February 1: I had been planning the return trip to Home Depot for a few weeks, and this weekend seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally get the construction supplies. Although it took the better part of three hours, all supplies and materials are now assembled in my garage! I also took the opportunity to schedule some vacation time.
On the 3rd I received email from Randy that my TeleKit has been shipped. According to UPS, it should be here by the end of the week. I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend!

February 5: UPS delivered two of the four boxes today... I'm hoping 'brown' is coming back tomorrow! Well, no UPS deliveries on Thursday or Friday. That's OK, I've got plenty of work already lined up.

February 8: Construction finally begins! After taking inventory of the parts that have been delivered, I determined that I could assemble the mirror box, the lower truss clamp blocks and the mirror cell - so that is the weekend's agenda.
I decided to begin with a small task - so I chose the assembly of the lower truss blocks. Care must be exercised to ensure that the stop plate is epoxied to the correct side, and this is made easy by having a number stamped on the top of the blocks.
Now that I have 'officially' started, it's time for a more involved task - like assembling the mirror box. The finger joints, as well as all parts in the TeleKit, are cut with extreme precision. Everything fits together quite nicely - a tribute to the quality you can expect from Randy and Alan. The two-part epoxy included in the kit has exceptional bonding characteristics and is slow-curing, both elements work to your advantage in building the TeleKit. Follow all the tips in the manual and the end result will be a thing of beauty!
